About the Books
With STAIR’s updated curriculum, reading strategies are learned within the context of high quality, diverse, and relevant fiction and non fiction titles. Relatable literature is key to building motivation and sustaining interest in reading beyond the tutoring session. STAIR believes that all students should have access to the best contemporary authors available, including titles with characters who look like them. Because of our desire to provide high quality, diverse literature, STAIR is rebuilding the libraries at each of our sites with these new titles this year. Because students will not have access to the STAIR library during virtual tutoring sessions, all students will receive 26 books of their very own, selected for each child based on his or her reading level.
